Changes, Changes, Changes...

and the never ending quest to be different. The look of the product, the secret ingredient, the packaging. With so many bath and body small businesses in operation (and this could apply to other artisans as well) what can be done to stand out? I "get" that there is nothing new when it comes to my craft. I "get" that a lot has to do with marketing. I "get" that people tend to buy from those they are familiar with, which I suppose goes back to marketing. Without being gimmicky what's a girl to do?

As I was window shopping Etsy I noticed many shops with products using the same type of jars I use. Thinking about it it's not hard to understand why. The jars are cute and different from what is normally seen. They are easy to obtain without handing over your life savings. But now we're back to square one: standing out.

So I'm on a quest now to find new packaging. Simple yet elegant, functional and eco friendly. For now I'll be using up all the odd packaging I have left. Aww, this should be fun.
