Day 10 - Tisa's Creations

This Giveaway is now closed. Thank you to all who participated. You may continue to leave comments for the artist, however they will not be entered into the draw. Still, why not show some love. ;-)

I'm Tisa of Tisa's Creations. I create everything my self, but I can honestly say, I would not be were I am today with out the my silent business partner, my daughter, my son and my husband. My husband is the most patient person I know. He is there to help out when ever possible - as long as it has nothing to do with creating anything. My silent partner wasn't so silent this holiday season when she came to visit and helped me fill so many orders (it was fun!) My daughter helps me with packaging, my son is the best sells person ever. When I need a break from at my craft shows they are both there to help out as needed. I couldn't ask for a better supportive family.

What has Tisa been up to: This holiday season has been very sucesssful for Tisa's Creations. I've participated in serveral craft shows and have made so many more contacts. I've introduced a few new stationery sets and have a few more items in the works.

Tisa's Creations in 2009: My goal for next year, to take graphic designer classes. I would like to create scrapbook paper designed by me - and use that to create custom cards for my shop. I would also like to expand my wedding, and customer invitation line. Also on my list is to hire an seasonal assistant to help out. (Wow, me an assistant! yeah!)

I'm having a HUGE SALE in my etsy shop...stop by my shop, stop on in...

A Penny for Your Thoughts is the realization of a lifetime love of playing with paper disguised as crafting. As a former Teacher and Trainer with the nickname Penny, my crafting skills developed creating exemplary classroom decorations and learning tools. Fast-forward and those skills morphed into simple greeting cards, candles, soaps and flavored vinegars. Retirement has provided me the luxury of time and focus. This translates into a passion for meeting the needs of savvy consumers. Our mission is to turn your memories into keepsakes.

We currently offer Cards and Notecards for a variety of occasions. We also offer Gift Tags, Gift Bags and Gift Boxes. Whenever supplies permit, we offer coordinated sets of Cards, Tags,Gift Bags or Boxes.

Tell us a little about yourself
I'm Robin and I'm a freelance writer and crafter living right outside of New York City with my husband Jeff and our calico kitty cat.

How long have you been crafting and what made you decide to sell?
I've been making my cards for about five years. I had been giving them away for years until someone happened to mention that I should try selling them. I had just stumbled upon Etsy at the time and so it seemed like a good place to test the waters. It's been a lot of fun so far.

How do you promote your work and where can we find it?

What inspires you to create?
My creative friends! I know a lot of talented people! Writers, painters, musicians, photographers... I am so impressed with their work and get my inspiration from the beautiful things they create every day.

How do you organize your time?
I stay up late! Actually, I currently work from home, so it's pretty easy to take a break from writing and wander over to my workspace to make a card. It really helps me focus on my professional work.

Do you have a blog/facebook/myspace/twitter so that others can keep in touch with you?
I have a blog where I love expressing random thoughts! It's also a place to feature my cards and published writing. There are links on my blog to my Facebook and MySpace pages as well as Twitter and the social networks I belong to. Please stop by and say hello! The address is: http://cinnamonandhoney.blogspot.com

Thank you Robin for taking the time to do this feature! Today our winner will receive two handmade cards by Cinnamon and Honey, along with a fabric card keeper and a special blended mini room spray by Blossoming Tree Bodycare.

The rules are simple:
1)To enter visit the featured artist's website or other online shop and look around. Come back here and comment on an item you'd like to have.

2)Winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Dec 17. Start Dec 4 at 12:01 AM and ends Dec 7 at 11:59 PM.

Tisa's Creations Cards and Stationary

Etsy Buy Handmade tisascreations

My name is Tisa, mother of 2, and wife to an awesome, supportive hubby! I have a twin sister, my number 1 fan and supporter (well she and my husband are tied as #1) I love anything to do with paper, I create hand stamped cards and personalized stationary. I describe myself as fun, honest, sassy, classy and one of a kind!

How long have you been crafting and what made you decide to sell?
I purchased my first scrapbook 20 years ago (man, that makes me feel old). I've made candles and I've completed several oil paintings. Every paining in my house - I've created! But,I've always loved all kinds of paper. About 5 years ago I started to make my own cards by rubber stamping. My friends and family then started asking me to create cards and invitations for them- so I did. With the support of my husband and sister, I decided to sell. I never thought I could sell any of my items. Currently my customers are mostly local.

What inspires you to create?
I get inspired by everything...fabrics,nature, kids - I can get ideas from almost anything.

How do you organize your time?
Organize my time? Is that really something that can be done? Just kidding. My time is very limited. I'm currently working full time, serve on a PTA Executive Board and starting this business. So I create whenever I get a free moment. I'm always carrying my computer or my sketch book - EVERYWHERE!

How do you promote your work and where can we find it?
I promote my work by signing up for craft fairs, word of mouth and of course etsy. You can find me at:
website:
www.tisascreations.etsy.com
blog: www.tisasspot.blogspot.com

What are your business plans for the remainder of 2008?
Business plan for the rest of the year...I plan to network as much as possible. I would like to out source all my printing as well as start to offer letter pressed cards and stationary.

Do you have a blog for people to keep in touch with you?
