I do not have a green thumb. My garden is usually hit or miss. However, each year I try again. I will say I'm getting better, but I still have a lot to learn about the plant world.
Last year I planted several herbs. They were doing well but we had lots of rain that really battered my plants. I had awesome smelling peppermint & chocolate mint that suffered badly and never recovered. Luckily I was able to get enough for a few pots of tea beforehand. I'll be buying more seeds/plants of both just in case they don't come back this season. On the other hand, my basil was a real trooper. :) I had a lush basil plant even throughout the weird weather. And my lemon balm. Oh my goodness did it smell good. I had enough to distill and get a great smelling hydrosol that I used in a facial cream. I like to plant herbs because they seem to thrive, despite the fact that I'm their caretaker. :)
I started my seeds indoors in peat pots last Sunday. I'm really excited about it all, actually. I have a lemon theme going on. Lemongrass, Lemon Mint, Lemon Basil and Lemon Balm. I need Verbena to complete my set LOL. Other seeds being planted this year: sweet basil, catnip, calendula, carnations, spearmint, apple mint, pineapple mint, chamomile, st. john's wort, celosia, chives, echinacea, strawberries, cilantro and parsley. Just to name a few. :)
There's nothing like homegrown goodness!

Good luck with your garden! I've been working on mine this year with the help of my father and husband. Things are starting to grow and I can't wait until my potatoes are ready to dig up.
Ooh Kallia...potatoes? You're the real deal.
