It Doesn't Last Long

One of the criticisms I've often read about natural perfume is that it doesn't last long. Quite frankly, that is one of the things I find most appealing about it. My personality demands this characteristic. I will say, though, that any perfume lasting less than 3 hours is a bit of a disappointment to me no matter how good I think it smells. But give me 3-5 hours and I'm a happy camper. Beyond that, well, let's just say I'm anxious to move on to something new. I've read that natural perfumes change as time goes on as if that were a negative. I can appreciate the unfolding or unveiling of a natural perfume. There is an air of mystery in what will appear next.

Another criticism is that natural perfume has little to no *sillage. Again, a characteristic that suits my personality quite well. I love a perfume that stays close to the body. One that I can enjoy by myself or with whomever I invite into my personal space. ;-) When I was a youngster in school there was a teacher whose perfume was so strong you knew she had been in a room long after she had left.

It all boils down to personal preference and learning how to apply perfume. Just because one likes a perfume doesn't mean everyone should or will like it. Just because one hates a perfume doesn't mean everyone should or will hate it. Just because a perfume isn't made with synthetics doesn't make it inferior. There's room for everyone.

Perfume is so subjective. What's strong to 1 person is weak to another.

I think a natural perfume lasting 3-5 hours seems about right.

3-5 hours is a good length of time for me. After awhile I want to smell something different lol.
